Adapter Ring Olympus SLR (Body) to Canon Lens (OM-EOS)
The OM-EOS adpater allows you to mount your manual focus Olympus Zuiko OM lenses onto Canon EOS bodies. This is especially useful due to the affordable dSLRs offered by Canon of late (10D, 300D, ...), and so enables you to bring your Zuiko OM lens collection into the digital age. The adapter still permits infinity focusing - it is only 2mm thick - and the lens is best used in stop-down mode (the adapter takes care of this). Stop-down mode is where the aperture closes to the f-stop that is set, whether or not a photo is being taken. It's best to focus wide open, of course, but the aperture priority (Av) mode on the camera will work fine as it reads from the dimmed light of the actual aperture to be used! I have one, and use it to attach my Zuiko lenses to my EOS 10D dSLR - no complaints at all from me, the combination works great!
Because of its thickness, the adapter was a bit expensive (for me, it was about 19,000 Yen), but it works! It is commercially available from a Japanese company called Kindai International. I bought mine through H. Masuda, but Gene Wilburninforms me that the contact which worked for him was through T. Masuda (email: t.masuda@kindai- inc.co.jp). Gene ordered his in the last week or so, so I suggest that people use his contact if they wish to order the adapter.
